Who Is Koneka

Pierre-Olivier Charlebois founded Koneka in June 2008.  The name “Koneka” was inspired from the Wolof word ku-nekkä which literally translates to “everyone”.  The name comes from the belief that technology is not about computers, but about the people who are using them.

The task of a software development firm is really to translate the client’s needs into machine language. Good software require appropriate technical skills, but exceptional software can only emerge from a deep understanding of the client’s motivations , values, and background knowledge.

Communication

Providing a good service always starts by actively listening to our customers.  The goal is to setup a synergistic project outgrowing what either party could achieve by themselves.  We will only propose an action plan when our clients feel understood.  During the develpment phase, Koneka delivers useful software iteratively such that our customer can follow the growth of his project and provide nourishing feedback as early and as often as possible.

Result-Driven

Our primary goal is to create software which performs useful work for our customers. As such, we adopted the “Agile Methodology” with which we develop practical features iteratively. Of course, each step is done with the long-term goal in mind, but this approach allows us to embrace evolving needs at very little cost.

Vision

The vision is the driving force behind Koneka’s action, the one that make us believe we can make a difference. We do not merely write software, we create tools empowering us to develop a better society. When Koneka chooses to nurse a project, it does so with the sincere belief that it will leave a positive imprint. The best way to predict the future is to create it, so let us create a future we are proud to bequeath to our children.

Integrity

Any being needs a lighthouse to guide them towards their long term goals. Unfortunately, technology evolves so fast that it can’t offer an immutable set of guiding rules. Koneka thus builds it dependability on the respect of its core values rather than on a specific technology. In the midst of our changing world, Koneka will remain frank on its competences, will respect its commitments, will openly discuss obstacles met and will genuinely accomplish its work.
